Jeff and Alysa’s wedding was a Disney-inspired New Year’s Eve fairy tale. They were married in a beautifully decorated hall surrounded by their family and friends. Alysa’s brother and sister sang to them, and they sealed their marriage with a kiss before venturing out into the winter wonderland around their farmyard for photos. Taking shelter from the bitter wind in the loft of their barn, the chill in the air made their breath visible. With the light seeping in through the cracks in the walls and the dust floating around them, it created a magical scene.
From the simple centerpieces of gold bottles and books, to the colourful chandelier, the decor was classy and tasteful with a hint of Disney throughout. After supper and a few short but sweet toasts, the party started. It was crowded and it was hot, but everyone was having a wonderful time getting ready to ring in the new year with the newlyweds. Alysa and Jeff were off on their honeymoon (to Disney World, of course!) in the early morning hours, but that didn’t stop them from enjoying the night. It was the perfect way to celebrate a new year and their new marriage, as they danced the night away with the people they love.
From the bride, Alysa:
We got engaged in February of 2015 in Disneyland as I am a HUGE Disney fan! We knew we wanted to be married within the year and so we decided on a New Year’s Eve wedding. Jeff and I both wanted a winter wedding for a couple of reasons! My reason: pictures in the snow are beautiful! Jeff’s reason: it doesn’t interfere with his farming season!
Because I am such a Disney fan my inspiration for decorations and ceremony music came from Disney films. The majority of the inspiration came from Beauty and the Beast.
Our day couldn’t have been more magical!
