From the bride, Shalene:
Nearly seven years later, all the planning, arranging and decorating is done – our day is finally here! Knowing that today we would be husband and wife was the most exciting and incredible feeling. The weather was beautiful, not a cloud in the sky and the sun was shining – the day was perfect!
Time to get ready! The guys spent their morning relaxing while the ladies spent the morning at the salon getting ready for the day – makeup, hair and brunch! We were both dressed and ready to say “I do” when the photographer delivered our letters to each other. Both letters talked about memories, the love we have for each other, the life we have created, all our hopes and dreams for the future.
Arriving at the church was an overwhelming feeling of excitement and emotions that after all our years together we were minutes from walking down the aisle, excited to see each other for the first time that day!
The music changes, it’s time to make our entrances – walking down the aisle so excited to be husband and wife! The ceremony was beautiful, tears of joy were shed, vows and a kiss exchanged – we were officially married!
Picture time! There were several places we went for photos. Our photographers were absolutely phenomenal and did such an amazing job! From keeping the kids entertained to the creative ideas and places to go, they made it such a great experience. We were so happy with the choice to hire a professional to do our photos for us.
After pictures followed our reception which was everything we hoped it to be. The entire day came together perfectly and we danced the night away.
This is going to be a day you will remember for the rest of your lives, create your day for you and your spouse. There will be an overload of opinions, just take it in stride and don’t let it all overwhelm you. When everyone tells you the day goes by fast, they aren’t kidding – it really does! Delegate the tasks of the wedding day to family or friends and enjoy your day. If something goes wrong likely no one knows what was supposed to happen so just let it go. At the end of the day, the beautiful decorations and details are just part of the day. What really matters is the person you are marrying that day and spending the day with the people that mean the most to you.
