There will be lots of advice given to you as you start your journey to the altar. Most of it you will completely disregard. Some you will take and use as your road map. There will always be one constant that you hear from everyone: don’t sweat the small stuff. Which is crap. It’s your wedding, every detail is important to you. You are going to sweat the small stuff if you want to! It’s ok to care about the color of ‘white’ of the linens the caterer uses (they could actually be off white and didn’t tell you!). It’s ok to want full control over the seating chart. You don’t want your single cousin Mark to sit next to your available, beautiful, intelligent bestie Karen (because no, just no, not happening at your wedding). It’s ok to care about the exact number of cream puffs that will be used in your dessert tower and to make your bridesmaids sit for an hour picking out the most perfect flower petals for you to line the aisle with. The only thing you have to keep in mind is that if it all goes south that you will not let it ruin your day. If anything, it will make a great story. After all, you totally know that you are going to take credit for Mark and Karen meeting on your big day at their wedding reception.
