From the bride, Kristin:
Our wedding day was everything we had hoped for. We had a beautiful outdoor ceremony on the terrace patio at the Bessborough Hotel in Saskatoon, where my family lives. The terrace was decorated with potted plants and flowers from my parents’ backyard, along with draped tulle and a wooden arch (which, due to strong winds, was tirelessly supported at all times by our groomsmen!).
Following the ceremony, we gathered our families and wedding party for photographs. We were so thankful to our family members and friends who flew in from all over the world (Australia, Korea, America, and all over Canada) to help celebrate our day. It was the first time that both families had been in the same location, and it was very special to capture those moments.
Our reception was punctuated by heartfelt speeches from our Best Man and Maid of Honour as well as by both sets of parents welcoming their new family members. We shared our first dance as well as parent dances before our Spotify dance mix (including a healthy dose of ‘90s pop) took over. It was a beautiful evening and we loved every minute of it!
Six weeks later, we travelled to Michael’s parents’ home city in Korea for a second wedding celebration. We had a beautiful reception and traditional paebaek ceremony. We were again very thankful to our family members and friends who travelled from Canada, China, Japan, and all over Korea to join in our celebration. We then spent a week sightseeing around Korea with family before returning home to Vancouver with a very well-travelled wedding dress and many amazing memories!
Wedding planning advice: Try not to get too stressed out or overwhelmed over the planning process… everything will turn out exactly as it should, and no one will notice (or care!) if it doesn’t!
