Since you have been engaged you have taken notes at every wedding you have been invited to. Examining the couples food selection, critiquing their color choices and even dissecting their centrepieces. You have probably even discovered some wonderful ideas that you have decided to include in your own wedding, like that fun DJ, and that beautiful outdoor ceremony location. But wait, do you need a backup plan in case of rain? Do you need to tell your guests ahead of time? We ask Molly Lux of Lux Events about this dilemma.
Sask Ever After: Should we have a backup plan if we have our Ceremony outside? Do we mention that on the invitation?
Molly Lux: Yes, you should always have a backup plan for inclement weather. I always ask my couples when they are planning on getting married outside: “if you wake up on your wedding day and it is raining, will you be devastated?” If they answer yes, we encourage them to look at indoor spaces. If they answer no, then I know we can plan to have a ceremony outside but of course still have a backup plan if it rains. You can mention the back up plan on the invitation, or just have a list of phone numbers to let people know the plan the day of. This is something that we help to execute with our couples!
