From the bride, Danica:
Our Madge Lake wedding was everything we could have dreamed of and more! The weather was perfect and our hearts were filled with so much love. We keep the entire day very intimate, knowing that the focus of our day was to celebrate our love for one another.
We took our time getting ready as the ceremony didn’t start until 6 pm. We did a first look with our photographer. Honestly, this is the one thing I would recommend to any bride and groom to do on their day – it was so emotional and honest. We then jumped on a boat and went to a very private island on the lake to take our wedding party pictures. The island was a wonderful scenic backdrop for our lake wedding photos.
We kept our ceremony to family and close friends only, with 40 people in attendance. We had vinyl records playing in the background and a canoe full of beverages for our guests. The ceremony was short and sweet, with the sun setting over the lake behind us. It was very emotional, with lots of love, hugs, happy tears and joy from each other and our loved ones.
The reception was held at the hall at St. Michael’s Camp. We had 80 guests for supper and the dance. We had a lot of laughs, dancing, turkey and pie!
Our day was magical and intimate – exactly what we were hoping for, and more.
Wedding planning advice: spend the entire day beside your loved one’s side. The day goes by so quickly, so enjoy every little moment together.
