From the bride, Dolcie:
Our wedding was the perfect mix of celebration and love, set in the springtime.
I think that one of the things that made our day unique was having an evening wedding. I’m pretty sure that every wedding I’ve been to has been the standard timeline: ceremony in the early afternoon, cocktails at 5:30, supper at 6:00, reception and dance to follow. I knew a lot of our guests would be travelling, and it was held in a small community, so I didn’t want them to have to wait around for anything. Our ceremony was at 7:00, with everything to follow, and it was held in one location.
Another thing that I think was unique was having charcuterie boards on every table. That was one thing I wanted for sure for our wedding. Everything I incorporated into my wedding was a reflection of us, the things we enjoy in life, and our own personal styles and tastes.
My absolute favourite moment from my wedding day was during the father-daughter dance. It just melts my heart, and I’m so happy that forever more, I have that memory in print. It’s a parallel to a photo my mom took of us dancing at my high school grad. I just love it.
You can plan a wedding in any amount of time. You don’t need two years to do it – you can do it in as short or long of a period as you want! Also, don’t let yourself get stressed out or overwhelmed by it, because at the end of the day, everyone just wants to see YOU. No one will remember the minor details, they’ll only remember seeing your beautiful selves, and being a part of your special day.
