From the bride, Shantelle:
We chose everything based on what is important to us and what we like. We had a very large wedding party because we wanted all of our most important people to be included. We had our ceremony at The Broadway Theatre in the afternoon. A friend of ours was our officiant and did the most amazing job. It was funny, heartfelt, and exactly what we wanted – so personal, funny, and special to us. After the ceremony we took pictures throwing popcorn in the theatre, at Crave Cupcakes, and then at the Vinyl Diner, as we have a large record collection and music is so important to us. We live near Broadway and it’s close to our heart so we wanted to include that area. Afterwards we went downtown to The Woods Ale House for pictures and pints, and then took pictures in some graffiti covered alleys.
The reception was at TCU Place, and it had a 1930’s/Great Gatsby feel to it. After a delicious dinner and some amazing speeches, we had a dance. The dance was the most important part to us, as we love to have fun and hit the dance floor. The first dance was to “Shout” by the Isley Brothers, and we made it mandatory for everyone to dance to that song. Every single person joined in and it was the most fun. We love a good party, and we thought this would get it going, we had no idea it would work so well! We all danced the night away until the lights came on. Seeing all our friends and family having a great time was amazing. It was the best day.
My best advice would be to spread out the workload. I tried to get at least one job done per week, so that closer to the wedding I wasn’t overwhelmed with a million things to do. I would also suggest to not take everything so seriously. No matter what, it will end up being an amazing day so just relax and enjoy the process.
