From photographer Jackie Larkin of Jackie Hall Photography:
For this styled shoot we wanted to play around with the beautiful warm tones that come with fall. We wanted the shoot to feel very airy, effortless, and easy-going. Building up on that idea, the styling was very important to pull that feeling across. With a simple, stunning wedding dress, flowing hair, and simple accessories, everything came to life. And of course you can’t have your session looking very boho without the use of a Westfalia van! We were very lucky to have one as part of the set and it really tied it all together.
For this bridal look, the makeup (done by Ginette) and hair (done by Julia) were created to show what a more natural wedding look might be like, playing with neutrals and straying away from the traditional updo. Morgan from Sweet Pea & Noelle worked with the idea and picked out the most perfect dress! Simple, flowy, and it fit perfectly with our theme. It was also extremely helpful to have Sarah there, picking out the perfect pieces by Hillberg & Berk and to make sure everything was styled to look its best.
This shoot was purposely shot around sunset to bring out the golden fields and to add that warm, boho look to the images as well. We photographed this just north of Regina, taking advantage of the beautiful landscape and the wide open fields to keep a very simple look to everything. This also helped draw attention to the van setup, as well as drawing attention to our model Alex and all of the vendor work that was put into the shoot.
